We have been made aware of a fraudulent text message (SMS) currently circulating that is targeting Capital Credit Union members.
The message attempts to panic members by claiming their account has been “placed on hold” and directs them to a fake website to steal login details.
Please be assured: Capital Credit Union did not send this message.
What the Scam Looks Like
The text message currently in circulation reads as follows:
“Credit Union: Your credit union account has been placed on hold please review your account: https://mycuireland.im . Reference : 389210″
How to spot that this is a scam:

The Link: The web address
mycuireland.imis fake. It is not a Capital Credit Union website. -
The Reference Number: The reference 389210 is being sent to thousands of people indiscriminately; it is not specific to your account.

The Threat: Scammers use terms like “on hold” or “suspended” to frighten you into acting without thinking.
Action Required: What You Should Do
If this message appears on your phone, please follow these steps to keep your money and data safe:

Do Not Click: Never click the link provided in the text.

Do Not Engage: Do not reply to the text, even to say “STOP.”

Delete It: Delete the message from your phone immediately.
