Scholarship Rules

  • Eligibility: The scholarship scheme is exclusively available to active members of Capital Credit Union who are currently studying an NFQ Level 6 or higher course, or undertaking a recognised apprenticeship scheme, within the Republic of Ireland.

  • Application Limit: Limited to one entry per applicant.

  • Evidence Requirements: Valid proof of attendance or participation in your current year of study or training must be provided with the entry form, dated within the past 6 months:

    • College/Further Education Students: Proof of attendance (Letter/Email) on an eligible full-time course.

    • Apprentices: A letter on official company headed paper from your employer confirming that you are currently undertaking an apprenticeship scheme.

  • Disqualification: Any entry form not accompanied by valid proof or submitted by non-members of Capital Credit Union will be disregarded.

  • Course Accreditation: Higher education courses must be CAO or QQI-approved and full-time. CPA Ireland students are also eligible to apply.

  • Governance: The decision of the Board of Directors is final.

  • Closing Date: The closing date for receipt of entries is 5 pm on 4th October 2026.

  • Publicity: Winning recipients will be required to take part in a testimonial video and write a testimonial blog detailing how they plan to use the scholarship funds.

Checklist (Please Read Fully Before You Apply)

  • Complete the online application form.

  • Provide valid proof of attendance or participation with your online entry form:

    • Students: A letter or email from your college or institution confirming enrolment or acceptance for the current academic year.

    • Apprentices: A letter on official company headed paper from your employer confirming your active enrolment in an apprenticeship scheme.

  • Ensure you are an active member of Capital Credit Union. If you are not yet a member, you must open an account prior to applying.

  • Submit the completed application along with your proof of status before the closing date of 4th October 2026 at 5 pm.

  • Ensure you apply for the correct tier under the Scholarship Types Explained section; incorrect or mismatched submissions will be disregarded.

Scholarship Types Explained

  • €1,500 Scholarship (15 Available): Open to students studying a full-time course of at least three years’ duration ranked NFQ Level 7 or higher. (e.g. Honours Bachelor’s Degree, Higher Diploma, Master’s Degree, PhD)

  • €500 Scholarship (5 Available): Open to students pursuing a 1- or 2-year course ranked NFQ Level 5 or 6 (e.g. Post Leaving Certificate / College of Further Education courses), CPA Ireland students, and registered apprentices who provide employer verification on headed paper.
