SEC Blog 3: Our Plans

SEC Blog 3: Our Plans

Capital Credit Union became a Sustainable Energy Community (SEC) to become a champion of sustainability in our local community. As part of being a SEC, we completed an Energy Master Plan (EMP) of our catchment area to understand the energy needs of our community.

Using this EMP as a foundation, we are working with Energy Team to deliver workshops that help our members become more sustainable and inform them about retrofitting their homes.

Workshops

The goal of the ‘Better Energy Use’ workshops are educational and focus on helping members reduce their energy consumption, understand their energy bills and learn about other options to make the best use of their energy. These workshops are in-person events and members can register to attend here.

There will be an ‘Energy Upgrades’ Workshop on 30 March dedicated to members interested in a retrofit and improving the energy rating of their home. At a time of rising energy costs, we think these workshops are more relevant than ever.

Retrofits

If you are interested in retrofitting your home, Energy Team can help you with the grant application process and manage the works for you. To get in contact with Energy Team, complete our online Expression of Interest here.

Capital Credit Union is also providing finance with discounted Green Loans and you can see our Loan Calculator here.
